ALL JUNIOR HOCKEY HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR MONDAY 23RD AND TUESDAY 24TH MAY 2016. We will advise you later in the week of any measle updates and on this Saturday’s hockey (28th).

BOOKING REQUESTS

Hockey Turf: Requests to book the turf must be made through the turf office in advance. Please check the turf calender(above) for available dates/times prior to requesting use of the turf. This is kept as up to date as possible. Pre – booked sessions have priority over casual users of the turf. Upstairs Pavilion: Use of the upstairs pavilion for Representative teams are also to be made through the turf office in advance. NB: The HSTT hires out  upstairs/kitchen  and has a number of bookings in place by non- hockey groups, so please check with the office first.

 JUNIOR WINTER HOCKEY

Mouthguards are available from the turf shop (cash sales only) or from Woodleys Coffee Cart (eftpos available). DRAWS:     These can be viewed above, under; “Draws” then drop down to “Winter”, then click on your grade. CANCELLATIONS: Saturday mornings; Should we need to make a call to cancel Hockey on a Saturday Morning, we will update  the following Radio stations- you can tune in to Beach FM on 106.3FM or More FM on 90.3FM  for their cancellations at 8am.  The message on our answerphone will also be updated, as will the webpage and Facebook Page-  below is direct link to Facebook Page. ‘Like’ us, so you don’t miss any notifications! Weekday games; A decision will be made no later than 1.00pm and an email sent to schools advising them of the cancellation. Please check with your school office, or ring the turf.

2016 REPRESENTATIVE HOCKEY

UNDER 13 GIRLS:

There will be two training sessions which are open to any girls interested in playing U/13 Rep hockey this season. Dates are as follows: Saturday 28th May from 12.30pm – 3.00pm and Saturday 4th June from 12.30pm – 3.00pm Coach: Amo Albert Please bring your hockey gear/drink. An invitation is extended to parents/caregivers to attend these sessions or if you are willing to help out with training or supervision.

UNDER 13 BOYS: 

This is a two day trial & is open to all potential Hatch or Curtis players. Sunday 3rd July from 10.00am – 4.00pm and Wednesday 13th July from 10.00am – 4.00pm Coach: Tegan Muraahi Please bring your hockey gear/food/drink

Judges wanted!!

Want to be involved in another dimension of Hockey??  Get the best seat in the house at matches! No experience necessary. You do not need to be an umpire or have had any umpiring experience but some hockey experience is important.    Start your way on the Officiating pathway which can lead from being involved at local Association tournaments right through to international tournaments. Come along to a 1-2 hour theory session to complete your HNZ Level 1 Officiating course. The practical component can be completed at Regional under 18s tournament to be held in Palmerston North in July. Details of date and time for the theory component during the CHL weekend at Queen’s Birthday in Palmerston will follow.  CONGRATULATIONS

The HHA is delighted to announce that our own Corey Prouting, was awarded the 2015 HNZ Community Coach of the Year at the recent NZ Hockey Awards Dinner in Wellington. We are thrilled that Corey has received this award, for his outstanding contribution to coaching in our local hockey community. We wish Corey the very best and further success in his hockey future .
