Please refer to the HHA Turf Calendar (above) for availability, then either phone or email the HHA office to make your turf booking or for turf fees. Please also check with the Office if you require the use of our Pavilion or any of our other facilities.
CAR PARK CLOSURE NOTICE – Update
The closure of the public car park at the turf has been delayed due to wet weather. Maintenance will be carried out on the chanel entrance into the car park as soon as the weather allows (need’s a 4-5 day fine spell). The HDC will be placing notices to this affect when the opportunity arises, so please respect their request and do not drive into the car park while work is being carried out.
JUNIOR HOCKEY HOLIDAY PROGRAMME for 7 -12 year old’s.
A holiday programme for 7 – 12 year old’s, will be run by Hayden Phillips (CD U/21 Representative). This will be held at the Levin Turf on Tuesday 22 April and Thursday 24th April, from 9am – 12.oopm. Cost: $10.00 per session with payment to be made on the day. You need to register with the HHA office the child’s name, age, school, contact cellphone, the number of years playing hockey and the day’s you wish to attend. PRIMARY SCHOOL WINTER HOCKEY
Games will commence from Saturday May 10th and during the week depending on the grade. Information & the registration form were sent to schools, for return by Tuesday 15th April. The first week will be a grading round and that draw will be available on this website after Easter and emailed to schools. The remainder of the seasons draw will be available once completed.
U/13 & U/15 REPRESENTATIVE TRIAL INFORMATION
Dates have been confirmed as follows:
U/15 Boy’s and Girl’s Trials – 18th May 2014 – 11am – 1.00pm
Corey Prouting & selectors will take the Boy’s trial, Cherie Rasmussen & selectors will take the Girl’s trial.
U/13 Boy’s and Girl’s Training & Trials – 25th May – 11am – 1.00pm
This trial will be for; Collier, Hatch, Rawleigh and Curtis teams.
If you want to attend any of the above trials or be considered at Representative level, send us your information as soon as possible. Forms are available at the turf or can be found at the top of this page, by going to: Draws/Forms. Look under Winter hockey, then Rep team documents, then scroll down to appropriate document. Print it off, fill in and either post, email or fax us your details. Look under “contact us” for the Associations contact details.
Senior Umpire Manager Required
The Association is seeking interest from anyone who is willing to volunteer to co-ordinate, recruit, mentor and appoint umpires to senior Div 1 & 2 games. We have someone who does this very successfully for junior umpires already and can help you get started if need be. Please ring or email the office if you may be interested.

JOB OPPORTUNITY AT H.H.A
The Horowhenua Hockey Association is considering appointing a part time Financial Administrator in 2014. We are seeking expressions of interest from people who have experience and sound knowledge of accounting and book keeping procedures, preferably with a sports background. This may suit someone who can work from home and be flexible with hours during the year. Remuneration will be discussed if you are selected for an interview. A job description can be viewed below. Primary Responsibility: You will be responsible for the financial management of the Horowhenua Hockey Association, liaising with the HHA President and Operations Manager.
Liaise with the HHA President and Operations Manager
· Make payments online ready for authorisation (all accounts to be kept current, unless instructed otherwise)
· Follow up debtor invoices for collection
· Analysis of Banklink
· Prepare the monthly financial statement for report at the monthly Committee meetings
· Maintain accurate records of current income and expenditure
· Manage all long/short term Investments as directed by the Committee
· Meet and liaise with Representative team managers to compile and balance a financial statement prior to and after Representative seasons
· Ensure annual returns are filed with the relevant Government department
· Prepare annual financial accounts for auditing and provide the auditor with information as required.
You will be required to:
· Be well organized, flexible, keep good records, allocate regular time periods to maintain the Associations books, work in a logical orderly manner, be aware of information needing to be kept for the annual audit, complete and pass Police Vetting requirements
