VolunteerNet – recruit volunteers for your events!
VolunteerNet is the government Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC) volunteer legacy programme, connecting volunteers and events throughout New Zealand to produce a pool of skilled and enthusiastic volunteers to interact and connect online. Almost 1,500 of the RWC volunteers have been registered and VolunteerNet have received great feedback from event organiser’s about the quality and commitment of volunteers.
In 2011 over 4,000 people registered and almost 20,000 volunteering opportunities were offered. If you want to get the insider look at events, learn new skills, meet likeminded people, get active and involved – register on VolunteerNet. If you are holding an event, register and list your event on VolunteerNet to recruit more volunteers. Go to www.volunteernet.org.nz and volunteer and be a leader in your community!
Black Sticks Women finish fourth at Four Nations
The Black Sticks Women have gained valuable test experience prior to the FIH Champions Trophy. Having not played any internationals since Oceania Cup in October, they finished fourth at Four Nations after going down 3-2 to Argentina in extra time in the bronze medal match.
The women will meet Argentina in their first match of pool play at the Champions Trophy which begins midday Sunday 29 January NZ time.

Black Sticks Men v Korea Test Series (4-12 February)
The Black Sticks Men will be playing five test matches against Korea in their last home test series before the London Olympics.
The series will be held at Lloyd Elsmore Hockey Stadium and hosted by Auckland Hockey Association.

The Black Sticks Men have now played two practice matches against Japan winning both 2-0 and 3-1. They have been playing on the new blue turf at Westlake Girls High School.
The matches do not count as official tests.

Notice of the 24th Annual General Meeting
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the 24th Annual General Meeting of New Zealand Hockey Federation (Inc) will be held on Saturday 28th April at 9.00am in Wellington, followed by an Awards Dinner on the Saturday evening.
PROPOSED REMITS AND RECOMMENDATIONS to be discussed at the Annual General Meeting must reach the chief executive 49 days before the Annual General Meeting, therefore we ask that these reach the Hockey New Zealand office by FRIDAY 9th March 2012.

Black Sticks Women – Four Nations results to date
The Black Sticks Women have lost their first two matches at Four Nations, going down 7-3 and 6-4 to Argentina and Korea respectively.
